Although less prevalent than cervical spinal column injuries, thoracolumbar (TL) spinal column injuries are becoming more common worldwide. While these injuries can be severe on their own, they are frequently accompanied by serious internal injuries of the chest and abdomen as a result of high-energy trauma.
